Madagascar is a long island of 1580 km long with inter-tropical climates, as its northern point is under the equator and goes down to the tropic of Capricorn.

The geological history and being an island made Madagascar a very unique country with a great diversity of climates and vegetation. Three grand areas can be considered, the narrow oriental shore with a florishing tropical flora, the High Lands with a more continental climate and the west coast that get less water, caracterised by its semi-arid bushes.
