Discovery : From Anakao (Tulear) to Antananarivo

• Introduction
Start at Anakao, sunny sea side village of the Vezo fishermen, where you will be amazed by the lagoon magnificence. You will go north through Isalo mountains to get to the green highlands and finally arrive at tananarive, capital city.

DAY 1: ANTANANARIVO - TULEAR
Flight to Tulear, transfer to your city center hotel. Visiting Tulear, walking around or rickshaw ride.
                                     
DAY 2 : TULEAR – ANAKAO
In the morning, boat transfer to the village of Anakao, with hundreds of colorfull pirogues on the beach. Bathing in a wonderfull lagoon and ride on a traditional outrigger canoe.

DAY 6 : ISALO MOUNTAINS MASSIF
The Isalo massif is a group of old eroded mountains of medium altitude. Made of canyons, water falls, natural pools and peak mades by rain and wind. At sunset, the magic of the place will amaze you.
Walk in the Monkeys' canyon and bathing in natural pools. Going from one site to the other can be done by car or after a 6 hours nice walk.

DAY 7 : RANOHIRA - TSARANORO VALLEY                         
You will leave the Isalo mountains on a majestic road bordered by rock cliffs, some of which being sacred, to get to the Tsaranoro valley, where is your hotel.

DAY 8 : TSARANORO VALLEY 
Wide choice of walks. Meeting locals, visiting villages. At the feet of the cliffs meet the maki catta lemurs that lives in the sacred forest of Tsaranoro.
                           
DAY 9 : TSARANORO VALLEY - FIANARANTSOA
Discover the high lands, its rice fields, the typical red laterite (suncooked clay) houses. Stop at Ambalavao, heart of madagascar wineyards and of the famous Antemoro paper. Visit of Fianarantsoa town and getting to your hotel bungalow ont the lake shores. Night at Lac Hôtel Sahambavy

DAY 10 : FIANARANTSOA
Visiting Sahambavy tea plantation in the morning, then going to the thermal town of Ranomafana (which means hot water). You can enjoy hot water bating in the swimming pool of the ancien thermal baths. Night visit of the parc to meet the tiny microcebe lemurs.
                          
DAY 11 : Ranomafana parc - AMBOSITRA                
Heading to Ambositra, capital city of the Zafimaniry peaple, traditionnaly expert wood carvers. Visit of workshops in this very distinctive city of high lands.
                          
DAY 12 : AMBOSITRA - ANTSIRABE
On a lovely bush track, you will visit the Andraikiba and Tritiva lakes then Antsirabe, a charming colonial little town, with its stone cutters shops, and a very nice little market.

DAY 13 : ANTSIRABE – MANTASOA LAKE
Heading to Mantasoa Lake at the east of Tananarive, this lake being a traditional vacation place for the inhabitants of the capital city. On the way, a stop at cheese dairy makers' to taste the local products of this agricultural region.

DAY 14 : MANTASOA LAKE - ANTANANARIVO
In the morning, walk around the lake in pine-wood forest, then off to Tananarive.

End of stay.
