The east coast : The Pangalanes Canal and Sainte Marie island

East of Madagascar : From Tananarive to Tamatave via the Perinet nature reserve - the Pangalanes canal - Sainte Marie island.

Introduction
Another side of the great island, the east coast will charm. Thank to heavy rains, the coast is covered up with tropical forests where the travelers' tree, the ravenala is king. You will cruise on the Pangalanes canal that goes from north to south on 700km, making a vital link for local economy. Finally, you will reach Sainte Marie island, a welcoming paradise island where humpback whales can be seen from june to september.

DAY 3 : ANDASIBE - Réserve de Périnet
Visiting the Perinet reserve, you will see the great Indri-Indri lemur in his natural habitat, the greenish tropical forest. visiting the village. Night at  Vakôna Forest Lodge, luxury class hotel or at l'hôtel Feon'ny Ala, standard accomodation.
                            
DAY 4 : ANDASIBE - MANAMBATO - Canal des Pangalanes
A nice winding road will take you to the Pangalanes canal and to the east coast. Boat transfer on the canal, cruise on chanels and lakes down to your hotel. Night at Bushhouse hotel luxury class hotel or at Palmarium, standard accomodation.

DAY 5 : MANAMBATO-TAMATAVE
Visit of a Natural reserve with lemurs all around and diverse species of palm trees. Boat transfer to Tamatave, going through a true labyrinth af canals with little villages on the banks.

DAY 6 : TAMATAVE– SAINTE MARIE
Transfer to Tamatave airport for a 45min flight to this paradise island. Transfer to your hotel.

DAY 7 : SAINTE–MARIE
From June to September : boat ride meeting the humpback whales, or bike ride to the pirates cimetary, Ambodifotatra city.

DAY 8 : SAINTE MARIE – Ile aux Nattes (Nattes island)
Boat transfer to Nattes island, a real jewel of white sand and turquoise water. Lunch served on the beach, enjoying the magnicent view of this wonderfull lagoon.

DAY 9 : SAINTE MARIE ISLAND
Day off : walks, diving ...

DAY 10 : SAINTE MARIE- ANTANANARIVO or TAMATAVE
At tananarive, visit of the kraft market to get your last souvenirs and gifts of the exquisite magalasy arts.
